The European Marketing Confederation (EMC) is Europe’s largest marketing membership organisation, helping to expand professional marketing networks across Europe and beyond. To help our professional marketeers, EMC has created a framework regarding the marketing profession. This framework is called the “EMC International Marketing Competencies”.
EMC has associations in eleven European Countries, who joined forces to create the EMC International Marketing Competencies framework. The Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) in England had a lead in creating the framework, which was approved by the EMC board and will be renewed continuously.
Ralf Strauss, chairman of EMC: “The competencies give a direction what the marketing profession is all about. It also gives boundaries to the marketing profession and it uses chapters to show what kind of different competencies there are in marketing.”
The competencies stand alongside the standards of the eleven national EMC members and will act as an additional element of support to give guidance to the marketing profession. Furthermore it will support all activities in Europe aimed at lifelong development of every marketing individual.
EMC is a non-profit marketing organization based in Brussels. EMC represents marketing in Europe on behalf of her eleven members and more than 100.000 marketeers, who are member of their national marketing association.
