Uwe Tännler is Chair of the European Marketing Confederation, President of the Swiss Marketing Forum and President of Swiss Marketing, in Switzerland. He is also a member of the panel for the Marketer of the Year Award and the Award für Marketing + Architektur, and is a board representative for a variety of companies.

Uwe’s career is based on a solid foundation including a wealth of practical experience across a broad range of skills including; mechanical engineering, electrical ICA, hydraulics, pneumatics, career advice and human resource management, as well as marketing and sales, business administration and corporate management.

In his capacity as a technician and commissioning engineer, he has managed people all over the world and, more importantly, has come to value them. He also gained valuable management experience and social competency as a Captain in the Swiss army.

As President of the Swiss Marketing Board, Uwe has significantly shaped the organisation, developing it into the biggest association of marketing, sales and management professionals in Switzerland. He has newly designed and energised the biggest event organised by Swiss Marketing, the Swiss Marketing Day, turning it into what is now by far one of the most well-known and largest marketing events in Switzerland. In 2008, he and his team were honoured the XAVER Award for their efforts in the Swiss Marketing Day.

“Uwe Tännler is a very influential figure for marketing in Switzerland,” emphasises Dr Sven Reinecke, Institute Director of the Institute of Marketing at the University of St.Gallen. He is a doer: there’s no such thing as can’t. In terms of music, he likes to recharge his batteries to Mark Knopfler, Bruce Springsteen and Rod Stewart, in particular, and will travel anywhere to be able to see them live. He is married with two sons. Uwe is also the owner and managing director of Tännler Personalmanagement AG.
