Reuben is the President of the Malta Institute of Management (MIM), a post he had previously also held for three consecutive terms.
The Institute represents, amongst others, the Edinburgh Business School and the Chartered Institute of Taxation.
Reuben was also Hon Treasurer of MIM and Chairman of the training arm of the Malta Institute of Management. He has acted as a Membership Services Committee Chairman and has chaired the Investments Committee of the Institute. He has also been a council member for the last 14 years.
During his 6 year Chair of the training arm, Reuben was the catalyst behind the creation of the Diploma in VAT Compliance, the Advance Diploma in International Taxation, the Certificate in VAT, and the Certificate in Business Accounting, amongst others.
He has been a pioneer in the discussions on Islamic Finance in Malta and has prepared various papers and articles on the subject. Reuben is also a regular speaker in International Islamic Finance conferences and acts as consultant on various Islamic Finance transactions in Malta and abroad. Amongst other things, Reuben has advised on the formation of Islamic Micro Finance Fund.
As the managing director and founder of Erremme Business Advisors, a business and management consultancy firm, Reuben also has direct involvement in the Corporate Finance and consultancy services of Erremme.
He is an experienced business, management and financial consultant who has worked with two of the Big Four accountancy and audit firms, namely, Ernst & Young (Malta and Milan) and KPMG. Reuben has also worked in various industries in the Maltese Islands and abroad.
Reuben is author of various articles in both Maltese and foreign newspapers. He is also the local representative of Islamic Finance News and is a Director of various other companies and organisations.
